Wet granulation involves adding a liquid solution, such as water, ethanol, or isopropanol, to a powder mixture to produce granules. Once the mixture forms a dense mass, the granulation fluid is evaporated, and the granules are milled to the desired size for compression. This method remains a preferred choice for substances where direct compression is unsuitable, even when processing water-sensitive drugs, thanks to advanced equipment like fluidised beds.
